Sony has lost the music rights to Fox's "American Idol."

"Idol" creator Simon Fuller and 19 Entertainment have struck a deal to partner with Universal Music Group.

The contract is part of a multiyear agreement for UMG's Interscope Geffen A&M division to market, promote and distribute "Idol" artist albums globally.

The announcement is the first major deal for UMG under Lucian Grainge, the company's new co-CEO. The deal is expected to be for a minimum of three seasons, Reuters reported.

"With 'Idol' celebrating our 10th season I wanted to inject some new power and weight behind our brand," Fuller said in a statement. "We have been quietly delivering hits relentlessly for nine seasons, and Lucian Grainge and (Interscope Geffen A&M chairman) Jimmy Iovine's ambition, commitment and determination to push the boundaries and go even further with 'Idol' was very compelling. It is exciting to have the world's biggest show partnered with the world's biggest music company."

Levi Johnston got ex-girlfriend Lanesia Garcia pregnant, Bristol Palin 'heartbroken: report PDF Print E-mail

There's baby mama drama in Wasilla.

Bristol Palin is "heartbroken" because of rumors that her on-again, off-again squeeze got an ex-girlfriend pregnant, RadarOnline.com reported Friday.

Things are so contentious between Palin, 19, and fiancée Levi Johnston that they are only communicating "by text message," a Palin family spokesman told Radar.

Things got messy in Wasilla, Alaska, this week when the National Enquirer reported that Johnston's ex-girlfriend, Lanesia Garcia, was pregnant. The two had a fling last year while Johnson and Palin were on the outs, sources told the paper.

"Levi insists the baby isn't his, but no one really knows for sure," a source told RadarOnline.com.

"Levi is one of three possible fathers who were with Lanesia during the probable week of conception," the source said.

Palin is so upset that she's rethinking her upcoming nuptials with Johnson, the father of her son, sources said. The two announced earlier this month that they rekindled their love - news that shocked the bride-to-be's mother, former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

"Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives," the politician-turned-pundit said when she found out about the engagement two weeks ago.

Jersey Shore

"Gorilla juiceheads" fist-pumped on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday morning as the cast of "Jersey Shore" kicked off trading in one of the more anticipated opening bell ceremonies in some time.

Traders on the increasingly quiet floor said it was one of the most crowded days in years as the deeply tanned cast of the MTV hit rang the bell and stayed to sign autographs amid a crush of onlookers and a flood of media.

"It was like a car crash here this morning; people couldn't help but stare," said Benedict Willis, director of floor operations at Sunrise Securities Corp. "It was very crowded, but most of the crowd were summer interns. It was like P.T. Barnum's freak show was in town."

The show has become a cultural phenomenon due to the oversized personalities of its cast, including pugnacious Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and gym rat Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, who have introduced several catch-phrases into the popular lexicon, including "gorilla juiceheads," which refers generally to muscled-up guys seen at New Jersey's shore.

"There were a lot of people who came down to the floor who wouldn't normally have come down -- daughters of people who are affiliated," said Peter Costa, president at Empire Executions Inc.
